Well-Being

Dry January

This week feels like I’m in a routine again, kids back at school, decorations down and working with a lot of guilty looking clients.  After all the excess of this festive season, which I loved by the way, January is THE perfect time to go alcohol-free for 31 days and get a healthy start to your New Year.

Dry January is a public health campaign urging people to stop drinking alcohol for the month and last year (2018) 3.1 million people took part in the UK.

I am advising some of my clients (you know who you are) to take part this year because of all the health benefits of going alcohol free for a month! Your body is likely to benefit greatly from giving up alcohol for just one month. Better hydration and better sleep will improve your overall wellbeing. Your liver, stomach and skin will also have benefitted from not dealing with the nasty effects of booze.

If you normally drink six glasses of 175ml wine a week. you’ll have reduced your calories by 3840 for the month.   It’s even higher for beer drinkers saving around 4320 calories over the month if you would have had six pints of lager a week.  That could have been a whole lot of padding on the tummy you no longer have to be concerned about.

Also, did you know that people who quit alcohol for just be a month are 72% more likely to be more mindful about drinking excessive amounts of alcohol in the future and with the health benefits of quitting you’ll see a difference to your body and your mood, and of course to your pocket. Think what you could buy? That’s extra cash towards one of my retreats this year that I know you passionately want to come to?

I will keep you posted with where in the world I will be and when etc or feel free to message me.

Until next time, embrace the new year and make time for fun.

See Ya,

Cherron💋
